Clean lashes are happy lashes….

It’s important that after you’ve got your lashes looking amazing you now keep them clean. Washing them daily will prevent a build up of oil, skin, dirt, and makeup on your extensions. This will help keep your lashes healthy and prevent infections as well as helping your lash extensions last longer.

Infections

One of the lashes jobs is to protect you from infections. If not kept clean, bacteria can start to grow and can lead to infections such as Blepharitis. This is an inflammation of the eyelid. The lash line becomes irritated and can develop dry skin flaking like dandruff in the lashes! You can also get lash mites! Uhm… ewwwwww… if you don’t believe us google it and check out the images!!!

Retention

Regular cleaning can also help your lashes to stay looking fuller for longer.

Natural oils and dirt from makeup that builds up on your lashes may otherwise break down the glue.

So how to clean your lashes?

We recommend using a soft brush and a lash cleanser. We like to use foam as it’s less likely to run into your eye and it is lash extension friendly! We stock lash foam cleanser in both salons.

Cleaning one eye at a time…

Apply cleanser into your hand, then with your brush apply the cleanser over your lashes and along the lash line to the tips. Completely saturating the lashes.

Now rinse with water until there is no soap remaining.

Pat them dry gently with towel or paper towel and finally use your spoolie to brush them back in place and fluff them up!

Whilst we do clean your lashes at every full set and infill, it really is important for you to be washing them too at least every other day! Brush your lashes daily!
